アメリカのブラックメタルバンド Lamp of Murmuur の 1st『Heir of Ecliptical Romanticism』をレビュー。2020年リリース。
アメリカの1人ブラックメタル。基本は凶悪なボーカルと刻みを頻繁に交えた強力なリフ主体で押す Immortal 的な正統派のブラックメタル。ゴシックやアンビエントを含む得体の知れない雰囲気には初期の Carpathian Forest を思わせたりもする。
のっけから約10分の長尺曲が2発。インスト2曲に Dead Can Dance のカバー1曲。色々詰め込んだ複雑な曲展開、シンフォニックアレンジや芝居がかかった歌い方など、そこ彼処で飛び道具が用意された一筋縄ではいかない作品。
ストレートに疾走するわかりやすいブラックメタル曲は #4. "The Scent of Torture, Conquering All"、#5. "Chalice of Oniric Perversions" の2曲ぐらい。この2曲は Sargeist や Mütiilation のようで問答無用にカッコ良い！
カラッとした音で刻まれるリフが豪快で気持ちが良い。Nocturnal Departure などのUSブラックメタルが好きなら一聴の価値があるかもしれない。
