Inquisition の 2nd『Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan』をレビュー。レビューするのは Season of Mist の2015年リマスター、デジパック再発盤。元は古風なブラックメタルジャケットだったが再発盤は1st、2nd が似たようなジャケットになってしまっている。
内容は前作 1st『Into The Infernal Regions Of The Ancient Cult』と殆ど同じ。前作が嵌まった方ならこちらも大丈夫だろう。相変わらずこってり濃厚な陰鬱暗黒音を聴かせてくれる。前作との違いはツインボーカルとブラストビートの使用が若干多くなった程度。
ドロドロの澱んだ空気感は決して高揚感の類を感じさせない。ぶっ飛んだ個性を完全に確立してしまっている。ブラックメタル愛好家でも好きか嫌いかはっきり分かれる音だろう。
#6. "Hail The King Of All Heathens" のメロディアスなギターソロはわずかに外気が通り抜けるようで一息つけてありがたや。束の間すぐに奈落に叩き落とされる。息継ぎのために水面に顔を出したところに水をぶっかけるような容赦のなさはさすが。
